Jack has written about corruption scandals that have brought down governments, human rights trials for historic war crimes, and the cultural expressions of resistance against discrimination.
From the volcanoes of Guatemala to the decaying metropolis of Havana, Jack has reported from a number of Latin American countries. After four years in the region he knows his pepian from his sancocho, prefers Aguila to Arequipeña, and knows never to accept a shot of cusha.
Graduating from the University of Leeds with a joint honours degree in French and History, Jack set off on what was supposed to be a six-month trip to South America to learn Spanish. Years later he was still there, fluent in Spanish but with decidedly rusty French.
Next up: Peru, Mexico and Honduras, working to develop photography and video skills.
